How do I know the right ring size?

Finding the right ring size can be a challenge, especially when shopping online. To help, we've put together an easy guide to finding your ring size. Follow our methods and make sure your new ring fits perfectly.

1EARTH METHOD :
Measure the size of one of your rings

1. Print the proposed baguier on a sheet of A4 paper.

2. Make sure that the "scale" option is unchecked in the print settings and check this by measuring the 5cm scale.

3. Take the ring you wish to measure and lay it flat on the circles provided.

4. Start with the smallest circle and work your way up until the black area fills the entire inside of the ring. The circle drawn on the band must be visible inside the ring.

5. Alternative: use a mobile application such as RingSizer.

2ÈME METHOD :
Measure the size of your finger

1. Take a piece of string, ribbon or a 1 cm wide strip of paper.

2. Wrap it around the widest part of your finger (knuckle).

3. Using a pen, mark the point where the string overlaps.

4. Unroll the piece of string and place it on a flat surface.

5. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the end of the piece of string and your point.

Advice

- The right size is the one that allows you to put on the ring without difficulty, with a minimum of effort. light resistance at the joint, but the ring must also be able to turn on the finger.

- If you're not sure which size to choose, we recommend you opt for the larger size.

- Measure the size of your finger at different times of the day and avoid taking measurements when your finger is hot or cold.

- Be aware of the specific features of each ring model. Take into account the differences in ring shape and width: a wide ring, such as a band, will require a slightly larger size (one or two extra sizes). You can also consult the size guides for the brands and models that interest you. For example, you'll find here the size guide dedicated to Cartier's iconic models.

- We mainly use European sizes. To find the equivalent in other countries, please consult the correlation table.

- Bear in mind that the advantage of buying a second-hand ring of a major brand is that it's easy to look up the size guides provided by the specific brand or, better still, to visit the shop. Take into account the brand's own specifications and measurements; then use this information as a reference when buying second-hand jewellery.
